The ZS-UV16 neutralises the DNA of bacteria, viruses and protozoa with UV-C light at 254 nm. It does not alter water chemistry or leave taste or odour.
For effective operation the water must first be cleared of turbidity and iron, so it is usually installed with an inlet filter such as the ZS-WH3. Lamp life is 9,000 hours (about 12 months). A lamp-failure alarm and a quartz sleeve wiper are included.
